Forbes, Fields & Associates Co., L.P.A., an Ohio legal professional association, is one of the oldest minority owned and controlled law firms in Ohio.  The firm, located in Cleveland, Ohio, was originally formed in 1971 and has a total of seventeen (17) employees including seven (7) experienced lawyers.  The firm has a wide and varied law practice. 

Forbes, Fields & Associates Co., L.P.A. has developed a strong reputation for representing its' clients aggressively, efficiently and effectively.  Its attorneys represent many years of experience in tort, contract, employment, civil rights, environmental and governmental law.  The attorneys at Forbes, Fields & Associates Co., L.P.A. are experienced in all phases of litigation including, but not limited to: pleadings; discovery; motions; witness identification and preparation; trial; negotiations; and the appeals process.

The law firm has also garnered substantial experience in the area of public finance law.  The firm is the first Ohio minority owned law firm listed in The Bond Buyer's Municipal Marketplace and has practiced consistently in the area of public finance for over fifteen (15) years.  The firm has worked on debt transactions as bond counsel, co-bond counsel, issuer's counsel, underwriter's counsel and co-underwriter's counsel. It has provided approving legal opinions on a broad range of governmental financings, including general obligation bonds, tax revenue anticipation notes, revenue bonds and industrial development revenue bonds at all levels of state and local government.

As part of Forbes, Fields & Associates Co., L.P.A. ongoing experience in governmental debt transactions, the firm acts as General Counsel for the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority.  The firm has also represented the Ohio Water Development Authority, City of East Cleveland School District, Ohio Building Authority and other state and local entities. 

Additionally, the firm has particular experience in commercial transactions and litigation including breach of contract, employment law, products liability, personal injury and personal injury defense, construction contracts, governmental contracts, bankruptcy, lender liability and foreclosure actions.  The firm currently represents several major clients.  These clients include University Hospitals of Cleveland, City of East Cleveland, LTV Steel Company, Inc. and the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority.
